Genesis Jones
Genesis Jones is a creative force. Her artistry is woven exquisitely through music, fashion, business, and philanthropy. No matter the path she travels, Genesis takes her heart along for the ride. Her messages of unity, empowerment and global relationships and responsibilities have taken her all over the world – and she’s just getting started.
At the foundation of Genesis’ colorful story is giving back. The United Nations Women for Peace Association has named Genesis their Chair for 2020. The association advances the goals of academic and charitable organizations that provide opportunities for women. Genesis also the co-founder of Love Uniting Nations, a global initiative with the United Nations Women for Peace Association. The program will create, invest and support sustainable women-owned and operated businesses.
In 2019, Genesis created a home collection. The collection includes her KissKiss Pillows, which weaves together messages of love, community and gratitude. In a partnership with GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation), Genesis donates a portion of the proceeds to the organization. Genesis’ other charitable endeavors includes Healing Bridges, which helps build schools for girls in Sudan. She also sits on the board and was named an Ambassador of Literacy Inc., an organization that connects children and families throughout the five boroughs of New York City to books and reading support. The program is currently in over 2000 schools.
Being a service to humanity is part of Genesis’ linage. She is the great niece of the “Queen of Gospel” Mahalia Jackson and the daughter of one of the most prolific R&B background singers of the 1970s. Although music was always her passion, Genesis began her career as a fashion model. Working with some of the most sought-after photographers in the industry, Genesis quickly landed campaigns for top brands, including Coca-Cola, Ford, Mazda, and Macy’s. She also graced the covers of magazines and modeled in runway shows.
Genesis soon realized the time had come to fulfill her musical dreams. One of the biggest champions of Genesis’ dream was mentor and friend, the legendary Quincy Jones, who helped her chart her course.
In 2018, Genesis released the single “With or Without Out.” Produced by PJ Bianco and Grammy-nominated DJ Snake (Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Lady Gaga) the song ignited dance floors across the country. “With or Without You” reached #19 on the Billboard Dance Chart.
Genesis lives by the philosophy: “Dream of a life filled with unconditional love, and never lose sight of the dream itself.” As she continues to reach new heights and unlock new doors, she always makes sure there is enough room to take others with her on the journey.
